How to PDF to Images

Sometimes you need individual pages from a PDF as image files — for social media, presentations, documentation, or thumbnail previews. ZimaPDF's PDF to Images converter extracts every page as a high-quality JPG or PNG directly in your browser.

1

Upload your PDF

Drop your document into the upload area. Every page is rendered into a thumbnail preview inside your browser — nothing is sent to any server.

2

Choose output format and resolution

Select JPG for smaller, web-friendly file sizes or PNG for lossless quality with transparency support. Adjust the render scale to increase or decrease the output image resolution.

3

Convert and download

Download individual page images one at a time, or click Download All to get every page in a single ZIP archive.

Why use ZimaPDF for pdf to images?

High-Resolution Output

Adjust the render scale to export pages at screen resolution for web use, or at a higher DPI for print-quality images. You control the trade-off between file size and sharpness.

JPG and PNG Output

JPG is ideal for photos and general-purpose images. PNG is better when you need a transparent background (for pages with non-white backgrounds) or pixel-perfect quality.

Bulk Download as ZIP

Convert a 50-page report into 50 separate image files and download them all in one click as a ZIP archive. No tedious page-by-page downloading.

Fully Private Conversion

PDF pages are rendered in your browser using PDF.js. Your file never leaves your device, which is critical when converting confidential or copyrighted documents.

Frequently asked questions

Which image formats can I export to?

You can export pages as JPG (JPEG) or PNG files. JPG produces smaller file sizes suitable for web and email. PNG is lossless and supports transparent backgrounds.

Can I extract all pages at once or only individually?

Both. You can download each page separately, or click the Download All button to get every page as individual image files packaged in a single ZIP archive.

How do I control the output image resolution?

Use the render scale slider. A scale of 1x gives you a standard screen-resolution image. Increase it to 2x or 3x for a higher-resolution output suitable for printing or detailed inspection.

Will the images look exactly like the PDF pages?

Yes. Pages are rendered using the same PDF rendering engine that browsers use to display PDFs, so the output images are visually identical to what you see when viewing the PDF.

Is there a page limit for conversion?

There is no page limit. You can convert a 500-page document if you need to. Processing is done locally in your browser, so the only constraint is your device's available RAM.

My PDF has a white background but I want a transparent PNG — is that possible?

White backgrounds that are part of the PDF's page content will be included in the output. If the page has no explicit background, PNG mode will preserve the transparency. For documents with a solid white background drawn as content, you would need to use image editing software to remove it afterwards.
