How to Merge PDF
Combining multiple PDF files into one is one of the most common document tasks. ZimaPDF's Merge tool lets you do it instantly and privately — all processing happens in your browser so your files never leave your device.
Select your PDF files
Drag and drop multiple PDF documents into the upload box above, or click to choose files from your device. You can add as many files as you need — there is no arbitrary limit.
Reorder and arrange
Click and drag the file thumbnails to reorder them exactly how you want them to appear in the final merged document. Use the arrow buttons to fine-tune the order or click the X to remove any file before merging.
Merge and Download
Click the "Merge & Download" button. The PDFs will be combined instantly, directly on your device, without sending any data to a server. The merged file downloads to your computer in seconds.
Why use ZimaPDF for merge pdf?
100% Private — No Uploads
Unlike most online PDF tools, ZimaPDF never uploads your files to any server. Every merge operation runs entirely inside your web browser using WebAssembly technology, so sensitive documents stay on your device.
No File Size Limits
Because processing is done locally on your own hardware, we don't impose arbitrary file size restrictions. The only limit is your device's available RAM, which is typically far more generous than what free online tools allow.
Completely Free, No Account Needed
ZimaPDF is free to use for personal and commercial purposes with no sign-up, no credit card, and no subscription. Simply open the tool and start merging.
Works on Any Device
Whether you are on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, or Android, ZimaPDF works in any modern web browser. No extensions, plugins, or desktop software required.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded when I merge PDFs?
No. Merging runs fully in your browser so your files are never uploaded to any server. All processing is done using client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your documents never leave your computer at any point.
Can I reorder pages before merging?
Yes. Use the drag-and-drop controls to reorder PDFs before exporting the merged file. You can click the left and right arrow buttons on each file card to shift its position in the merge order.
How many files can I merge at once?
You can merge as many files as you need. Since processing happens locally on your device, the practical limit is determined by your available RAM rather than an artificial cap we impose.
Will fonts and images be preserved after merging?
Yes. ZimaPDF uses the pdf-lib library which faithfully copies page content, fonts, and embedded images from each source PDF. It also resolves inherited resource dictionaries to prevent blank pages that are common with other basic merge tools.
What happens if a merged page comes out blank?
Blank pages after merging are usually caused by non-standard PDFs — for example, XFA-based forms or files exported from certain legacy software. Try opening the original file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and re-saving it as a standard PDF before merging.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
To merge a password-protected PDF you first need to remove the password protection. Use the ZimaPDF Protect tool to unlock it and then come back to merge.
